La Maison Des Délices – Pâtisserie & Bistro, Calcutta is seeking a Senior Chef to provide the highest quality food preparation, plate presentation and prompt service to our valued customers.  Our ideal candidate would be someone who enjoys using a creative culinary approach to a traditional European menu. Your prime mission will be to assist the Executive Chef in providing innovative and artistically superior, food and beverage products that enhance the reputation of the Bistro, at the same time, meeting the established quality and presentation standards.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of chef experience in a high-volume, upscale restaurant serving European/Continental Cusine
  • Strong communication skills
  • Extremely pleasing customer-facing skills.
  • Proven Experience with Microsoft Office applications such as Excel and Word

Responsibilities:

  • Strong cooking skills and a developed palate
  • Confident, “hands on” leadership skills to continue developing an established kitchen team
  • Creative culinary approach to traditional French dishes
  • Experienced in systems/organizational skills including scheduling, financials, and sanitation, etc.
  • Complete all duties necessary to exceed our guest’s expectations by understanding and fulfilling their needs.
  • Assist in training staff; following established Training Program guidelines.
  • Observe and follow-through with restaurant repairs, following proper Work Order procedures.
  • Assist in control of labor, food costs.
  • Participate in daily, weekly, and monthly planning of restaurant goals in conjunction with the Director of Restaurant Operations, General Manager, and remaining management team as appropriate.
  • Maintain familiarization with financial statements and their overall impact on profitability.
  • Set an example of professionalism to be maintained throughout La Maison Des Délices – Pâtisserie & Bistro
  • Schedule assigned back-of-the-house employees and complete labor projections weekly.
  • Maintain adequate supply of food stock for restaurant needs through daily/weekly product orders.
  • Assure proper food quality is executed consistently; coaching staff to improve work habits/performance.
  • Assure all food is maintained in accordance with regulations.
  • Hire, train and terminate back-of-the-house personnel, as necessary.
  • Process hiring and scheduling of rehab and on-premises employees, including check-in procedures as necessary
  • Complete inventory duties as assigned
  • Complete frequent inspection of assigned areas
  • Handle any/all emergency situations calmly and professionally
  • Performs all other duties as assigned
